You discover that there’s a fierce rivalry going on between Mario’s Gym and Sonic's Gym. Depending on which gym you choose to join for the Road to Rio, you’ll see a different story unfold. Are you going to find out what happens in Sonic’s story, or in Mario’s?Power up your Mii with OutfitsSwitch your Mii character’s clothes to unleash your individuality and boost different abilities!As you embark on your training regime on the Road to Rio, you’ll earn Training Points (TP). Get enough TP and your Mii character’s level will increase. The higher the level, the more outfits your Mii can choose from. You can also boost your Mii character’s abilities further by equipping all manner of sporting goods. From golf clubs to boxing gloves, there are lots of ways to enhance your skills.In the main story on the Road to Rio, complete Mario’s story and you’ll earn a natty Mario Suit, or finish Sonic’s story for a flashy blue Sonic Suit. You can power up these suits by using any amiibo figure of Mario to power up the Mario Suit, or the amiibo figure of Sonic to power up the Sonic Suit.Meet the CompetitorsIn addition to Mario, Sonic and your Mii, you’ll be able to control a whole host of other characters who have qualified for the different events! Choose from 40 characters – more than ever before!Here are just a few of the characters you'll meet!Team up with others!You can also challenge family and friends in multiplayer mode to determine who the real champion is. With Download Play, up to four players can face off against each other with just one copy of the game between them, or see how they stack up against faraway players in global leaderboards.Can you walk a full Marathon?This all-new mode lets you walk the distance of a full Marathon by carrying around your Nintendo 3DS family system. Progress in your Marathon attempt and earn rewards that you can use to boost your Mii!In Pocket Marathon, you can also meet other players’ Mii characters by connecting to the online rankings with your game, or by exchanging data with others via StreetPass!
